Project brief
To redesign the Cheltenham Town Hall website, with a focus on ease of use and integration with the Spektrix ticketing system.
The website to showcase events organised by The Cheltenham Trust, primarily hosted at Cheltenham Town Hall, with some events held at other venues, including The Pittville Pump Room, The Wilson Gallery and Museum, Leisure At Cheltenham.
Spektrix is a full stack technology and service for sales, marketing, fundraising and admin teams in the arts and culture sector. 550+ organisations around the world are working with Spektrix. Spotted Media created a bespoke plugin to integrate directly, via the Spektrix API, into WordPress and Event Calendar.

Workflow
Cheltenham Town Hall, website design and development
The challenge with this website, was the integration of the Town Hall Box Office & Theatre Ticketing Software called Spektrix. For this we developed a dedicated plugin designed to seamlessly integrate with the Spektrix v3 API. We optimise everything for mobile, desktop and tablet, testing each iteration on a suite of lab phones. Users of the site are able to view and select seating and book tickets directly.
In addition to the design and implementation, SpottedMedia continues to provide training and technical support.
Planning
The Spektrix technical support documentation made the task much easier to plan the development phase. For ease of use and maintenance we opted to create or own plugin.
Drafts & Revisions
As with all builds of this nature, you will always face hurdles that need addressing. Not least testing on various platforms and devices. We went all the way back to older generations of mobile phones (2015) to ensure compatibility and accessibility.
