Keeping up-to-date with the latest software and learning new software demands constant attention. Here is a selection I am very familiar with.

Photoshop 7.0 For me the most important piece of software. I do most of my work in PhotoShop. FreeHand 10 Intuitive, simple, effective. I prefer to use this than Illustrator if I have a choice. Illustrator 8.0 The classic vector program. Just a little bit fussy. Bags of features. Adobe InDesign Again, very intuitive and simple. When I'm doing final AW, I use this but I can also use . . . QuarkXpress Now the 'number one' in page make-up software. Adobe StreamLine Useful for vectorising almost anything. Cute FTP This is a neat bit of software to make file transfer easier between remote servers.   Poser 5 Need to animate people, animals, Robots!? This is great 3D animation software. Kia Power Show Neat for producing multimedia presentations. Nice and simple to use. Acrobat 5.0 Unique piece of software. Providing the client has a Reader, this speeds up approval on work.

Adobe GoLive 6 Without doubt the best Web authoring software available. I should note here that I am fluent in HTML. GifBuilder Now being superseded, some might say, by ImageReady. It's still a useful little program. ImageReady I prefer this to GifBuilder because I love PhotoShop. Macromedia Flash 5 For the web, or creating screensaver and multimedia presentations - now becoming a standard. TypeStyler Good for messing around with type. Microsoft Outlook Not to be overlooked, knowing your e-mail software and how to get the most out of it is important. In addition to the above I work with both Mac and PC. I configure all my own scripts for use on my Web server. This includes, JavaScript, CGI, Perl and PHP. I run my own DNS and Apache Web server.
