The second BFM sponsored London Fabric Show held at Chelsea FC, was hailed a great success by exhibitors, show sponsors and visitors alike.
The visitor numbers were up on 2015 by 88% on the first day and by 58% overall. Exhibitors were treated to a visitor list that read like a Who’s Who of British upholstery companies with the number of visiting companies attending the show rising by 33% over the 2 days. The bustle around the exhibitors in the executive boxes had to overspill into the adjacent coffee lounge at times and it became a great place for meetings and doing business.
Visitors were treated to a wide variety of high quality fabrics from the Show’s 33 exhibitors. Mills and suppliers from Belgium, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the UK took over executive boxes and suites of the hallowed football ground and turned them into a sea of vivid colours and textures.
Exhibitors and visitors to the show expressed huge satisfaction with the show with the majority of both pledging to return in 2017. Olivier Hellyn from Tavelmo said “Best show ever, we will certainly come back next year.
Visitors to the show were also full of praise with Jo Moore from Spink & Edgar, saying: “There are some great exhibitors here and it has been very useful for us to attend, the venue is good too and we’ve met some good friends from the industry.”
The show’s sponsors – Ecomaster, Fedustria, Flanders Investment & Trade Agency, Lectra and Welters Organisation Worldwide; each of whom had a stand in the coffee area, also reported great satisfaction with the show, with Victoria Fothergill, Marketing Manager for Lectra commenting “Thank you to the whole team for a great show with an equally great turnout. We met with several key people which made our participation worthwhile.”
The 2017 show is expected to have another 6 – 10 exhibitors but will retain its focus on high-end fabric manufacturers and producers from Europe, including additional UK manufacturers and suppliers.
MD of the BFM Jackie Bazeley said, “We are delighted that the 2016 London Fabric Show has been such a success. In our membership we have a great number of prestigious UK upholstery companies and see it as important that we organise this show to give them, and other UK manufacturers, an unparalleled opportunity to see some of the best fabric producers in the world – in one venue. Our visitors have told us that they like the high quality of the exhibitors attending so it is our intention that this show retains it’s integrity and reputation as being a quality show with quality exhibitors.”
The London Fabric Show will return to Chelsea FC in 2017 on 27th and 28th February 2017.
